Sponsored Walk 2021

Weston-super-Mare Lions Club
(In conjunction with the GOKIDSGO! project)
Sponsored Walk.
17th October 2021
Following on from the great success of 2019, Weston-super-Mare Lions Club will be holding another charity sponsored walk along the Brean Down Way.
The Club was instrumental in commissioning the signage along the Brean Down Way and this is a great way of publicising the walk itself and raising money for local groups as well as continuing the work we do, by supporting the local community.
One of the prime examples of this is our GOKIDSGO! project, promoted jointly with the Weston Mercury. Together with many generous sponsors we are able to distribute funds to promote a range of youth activities.
This walk is an opportunity for those groups, and many, many others to raise money for themselves and the Lions by exercising and having fun! We want groups and individuals to join, and encourage others.
On Sunday October 17th, hopefully under glorious sunshine, from 10.00am groups and individuals will start from Royal Sands on either a gentle 2mile walk or a more leisurely 6 miles towards Brean or an exhausting 8 miles to Brean Village Hall and back. There is a modest entry fee of £5 for individuals and £10 per group (no-matter how large!). Thereafter each entrant can raise as much as they can with sponsorship.
All the walk details are available, either by telephoning Grant Parris on 0794 709787 or by email to sponsoredwalk@wsmions.co.uk or you can download the details and registration form from our website www.wsmlions.co.uk/events/2021/sponsoredwalk
Lions Club Secretary Chris Nelson told us “By organising this walk we are providing the opportunity for groups, clubs, schools and individuals to raise money, and get out in the fresh air in late summer.. The Brean Down Way is a gentle pathway, with some wonderful views across Somerset and beyond”.
On the day, simply report to the registration desk with your completed sponsor form. You will be given an identifier and, on your successful return, we will swap that for a certificate of achievement.
